Hello,
We have SolidWorks 2007 running on a Dell Optiplex GX520 and also aDell Precision 490. The Dell precision 490 is brand new and waspurchased specifically for running SolidWorks.
An assembly (.SLDASM) can take up to 20 minutes to load on thePrecision (as opposed to less than a minute on the Optiplex).
I have swapped the network connections over, but to no avail. However, working exclusively from the hard drive of of thePrecision fixes the problem totally.
Can anyone help to throw any light onto this problem please? Maybethere is a patch or a setting ...
TIA,
Stephen

Thank you so much for the quick reply.
I re-tested using a wireless dongle but no improvement.
However, when another SW user logged into the offendingworkstation, he does not have this problem at all. It's even prettydecent over the wireless connection.
The assembly loaded really quickly and so I conclude there issomething wrong with the settings (we only have two workstationsand two users).
I tried using "Reset" within the SW options, but this didnothing. Is there some way that we can flush the settings and startagain for that individual?
TIA,
Stephen
