Hi Todd,
Please see this help topic on the subject:
http://help.solidworks.com/2014/English/solidworks/sldworks/c_flyout_featuremanager_design_tree.htm
I hope this helps,
Jim
Thanks for the link, but I found that on my own and tried it. The "Use transparent flyout FeatureManager in parts/assemblies" was checked. I checked and unchecked yet nothing changed.
Hi Todd,
Does anything happen if you click on the title bar in the PropertyManager when it is there? It is supposed to auto-show, but that is another way to show it. Perhaps attach a screenshot so we can see exactly what you are seeing. If it is not showing up at all, this may be a graphics issue in which case you should check to be sure your card is supported and driver up to date (use SolidWorks RX from the Start menu to check that).
Thanks,
Jim
Hi Todd,
In your image, you do not have a command "running" and we don't show the flyout FeatureManager tree at this point because it isn't really needed. There are two types of PropertyManagers:
1) Those that are actual running commands that you need to specifically exit with an action like OK or cancel. For these PropertyManagers, the software should automatically show the flyout tree.
2) Those that are just property sheets. These will show up when you select a sketch entity, dimension, drawing view, etc. These PropertyManagers are more "transient" and they go away as soon as you clear the selection (click in the background or do something else so the entity is no longer selected). In these cases, it is rare that you actually need to select something from the tree because in these cases, you don't make other selections to help define the thing that is currently selected (unlike case #1 which is when you are creating features, geometry, etc.). For these more "transient" PropertyManagers which usually have only an OK button, not both OK and Cancel, you can show the flyout tree by clicking on the title within the PropertyManager. Although again, you would very rarely need it in these cases.
If it is still a problem even in one of these cases, please post a screenshot of one of those cases.
Thanks,
Jim
