I need to project a pattern on this surface. But only wat to evenly distribut and get everything correctly is by having a flat representation of the surface. Any way to do that in solidworks?
What sort of "flat" do you mean? You can't represent this shape as flat. It's not flat. Anything flat would not represent this shape.
Josh may be he means something like a flat sheet metal pcs that is kinda bent on two edges along the length and then rolled into a tyre shape.
Yep. You know how the projection comand takes a cylinder face and flattens it. Can you take a round surface and flatten it?
Basically what I want is to flatten sheet metal or however it can be done then be able to project some curves into the flattened surface then go back to the shape it is
You'r asking for a Wrap feature on something that looks like a toroid. Unfortunately, SolidWorks can't do that. It can only do developable surfaces like cylinders and cones. It can't do spheres or toroids.
I see. Can I apply a texture to the surface and then go about trying to project curves. Basically i want to project this patter on it but evently
Im actaully trying to create this in 3d but I dont know how do I get it wrap around the half circle
