I would like to animate a web of paper traveling through a set of rollers, the web of paper will have a die cut design on it. Is this possible in SW?
Welcome to SolidWorks forums Michael.
Haven't done that but feel that it can be done.

Thank you for the reply Deepak and the suggestions on posting. My searches came up short, i will just have continue on to other resources.
it can be done but you're going to have to be creative
look at some of the examples of animating sheetmetal being bent or ropes being moved
essentially you have to move the paper or change a dimension in the paper part to make it behave like it is going around the rollers..etc
Should be able to make it work.
This might be a good resource for you.
If the paper was a simple surface could I animate a cut feature moving across the surface along a specified path?
Do you mean something like attached video. Play in VLC player if media player doesn't run this.
Yes that is what I am looking for, except I would like to have a design cut into the surface of the paper. For representation purposes I suppose it could just be an appearance. Later in the animation a set of blanks will be die cut from the web of paper and then the paper will continue on with the cut features present. This part of the animation takes place on a single plane and will not need to deviate from that plane.
Deepak would you be so kind to share how you made that short animation?
Yes something like this animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgbYpUP4XDk
