In my assembly I only have 3 components but when i create a bill of material one of the component show it has 2 quantity. I have attached screenshot and the asssembly so that you can check. Thank you in advance
I have found the cause of this error.
The BOM quantity is linked to the thickness of the plate part.
I change the BOM quantity to "none" in File > Properties > Custom
When I open the .xlsx file, there are 3 parts listed in the feature tree but I only see 2 in the graphics window (a flat panel and a bracket). There is a sketch for what appears to be a handle. If that is the 3rd part (missing) from the BOM check to be sure that it is not "rolled-back" or has some other problem.
All the parts, including the handle, opened fine for me.
Hi Mr Jeff
Thanks for your reply, correct there are three components in the assembly but once you create bill of material table it will show 2 quantities for item number 1. I have checked that part but i don't see any other solid body inside which is strange.
There's apparently something really weird going on with that part file. I created a new assembly using one each of your three parts, then started a new drawing, inserted a drawing view of my new assembly, and inserted a BOM. Mine is showing a quantity of 0.0787402 for that part. How's that for odd? Unless someone else replies with an answer here, which is possible because there are a lot of people here smarter than I am, I would suggest sending this to your VAR to see if they can figure it out. In the meantime, I believe I would just over-ride the quantity in the BOM and move on. Normally I wouldn't recommend over-riding a cell in a BOM, but in this case I believe I would.
By the way, when I was looking at your parts I noticed that you used a 3d sketch for the handle, and had seperate bodies for each section. Maybe there was a reason for this, but if not I would like to suggest an alternative method to model that part. And if this is unwanted advice then please accept my apology. The one I attached uses a 2d sketch, which is much easier to fully define. I sketched half of it then mirrored it about the construction line. Mine is also one body instead of 5 seperate bodies. The easiest way to do this when using the Structural Shape function is to select the sketch from the tree instead of individual sketch elements from the graphics area.
Hi Mr Glenn
thanks for your reply, the 18VS081A701-01-A01 , has the problem, but I did check on the sketch and features of this component and I think all is ok, but still once i insert it in a new asssembly, even only this part it will immediately create a quantity of two. Which I think is really strange.
