Weird title I know.

I have this sphere-like shape (suppose to resemble the large human colon) that has 2 different radiuses which I want to create a disk-like cut into.

Problem is, the cut is suppose to be an even 1 mm deep disk and it turns out with changing depth around 180 degrees.

Any Ideas how to solve that?
Is it somehow possible to create an offset surface in the shape of a disk coming out of the part, which I can then thick-cut it 1mm deep?

Thanks a lot guys
