we do not have a coodinator PC and just want to run task scheduler on my pc to preform some tasks overnight.
Is there a way to set up task scheduledr to run standalone?
Problem solved when we updated to Solidworks 2014 SP 2.0
Design Checker works great.
You can run it from any machine that you want (with SolidWorks and Task Scheduler obviously). A coordinator PC is just the one that manages the task for distributed computing if that is what you are doing.
since I am trying to run just on local pc do I have to set up the network monitor?
How do I tell Task Scheduler to use my PC?
Task seems to start, swirl in progress column, comes back up Fails status.
Feels like there is a step I am missing.
You don't need network monitor if you are only using your PC. Task Scheduler will use your PC automatically.
Can you be more specific on what you are doing and the steps you are taking?
not sure how task mamager is run and set up.
Open task mamager from start button
select Disign checker.
Select Standards file
select file to check
Item show up a task.
goes to inprogress.
come back with fail no otyher error information.
Seem to be missing a step some place.
Have you tried:
any other task like convert or update on the same file or other files?
to check a different file with your design check standard?
Are you sure you design checker file is complete? I haven't messed around with one for a while, can you post yours here?
Another thought is are you sure you have access to the files?
Great Idea on tryign something else.
Did a print to pdf, and worked on problem (ran several just to confirm)
so problem is wiht the design checker I am running.
have run it from within solidworks without problem.
was looking at setting it up to run on a bunch of file sovernight.
will review the options on the design checker screen it see if I am missing something there.
closer to the right track!
Used a differnet design checker file and get a time out after 3600 seconds, small file beeing checked.
