So I recently inserted a 1/4-20 x 1" socket head cap screw in a model,...no problem. Then today I come back and try to put in a 1/4-20 x 3/8". It generates the configuration but I've got all kinds of red in my feature tree. I opened the part and it is somehow complaining about a mate reference geometry missing (??!).. See screenshot:
There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, as I can envoke some of the other configurations (let's say 1/4-20 x 3.00") and it is fine:
Anybody see this ever? And know what is causing it? It is really frustrating because every single instance of one of these screws shows up red on the feature tree. Bah!
Hi Devin,
I'm not sure why this is happening but can you open the part and delete the 1/4-20x3/8 config, save the file, and then insert it into an assembly again using the 1/4-20x3/8 size? If the issue persists I would suggest contacting your reseller. If that resolves it I would chalk it up to a random glitch in the matrix.
OK, it seems lit happens on all the configs with "Schematic" thread enabled. I can literally supress the feature (ThreadSchematic) in my part and the MateReference is happy.
What the heck? The ThreadSchematic feature literally doesn't even reference off of the edge used for the MateReference, so I don't see why that is happening...
Well, I just copied the socket head cap screw model right off the installlation materials and copied over the one I had, and it is working fine. I don't know what happened to that other model (considering it is read only all the time...(!)).
