Is it possible to run a simulation that can simulate the heat generated by friction?, like a clutch during slip for example.
You could estimate the heat generated by the force at the interface. But the software will not calculate it directly.
Ok that's a pity it would have been handy for a clutch project i'm doing.
Thanks for the reply.
its pretty complicated beyond the approximation i suggested
i wonder if any software can do it without crazy multiphysics
worth adding to the enhancement request database in the solidworks customer portal
side note, while the software can't account for the heat, it can simulate the frictional forces in either simulation or motion
