Why there are so many errors in SolidWorks? Does anyone know?
I have 50 pieces spr about solidworks. How many spr do you have? why solidworks doesnt fix bugs?
thank you

I am sharing some of them. most of their basic issue but they are necessary for design. doesnt anyone encounter with these?
- Sectioned view on assembly envoirement
- cosmetic thread view issue on multi body
-cosmetic thread at section preview
- ghost view first position on assembly.
- lost view on drawing (about zero thickness bug)
- preview large icon view bug on pdm
pdm add ins bugs
- pdm add ins bug
- cosmetic thread length issue
Yazgan,
There are so many bugs because the managers at SolidWorks would rather add new features to attract new customers than fix the bugs that the existing customers complain about. It seems to me that they have become more moderate in their views in the last couple of years, so there are less new features and more bugs fixed.

Soldiworks should think to existing customer firstly. and fix their spr.
if it goes on like this soldiworks will lose the customer.
Inventor make a innovation too but it is still stabile. does anyone know this?
also inventor is copying to solidworks. Why solidworks cannot be as inventor...or other cad program...
thank you
I believe you saying that there are certainly problems but if I was having problems "all the time", I would have my VAR camping out at my desk and showing me how to solve them. If your VAR is not willing or capable, change to one that is.
We have 6 seats of SW2014 here and do not have many problems at all. I also have to admit that some of the problems I experience are my own fault because of faulty procedures.
These may be a bit dated, but they may still be helpful:

Running 2014 40-50 hours a week, and I average 5-6 crashes per day. More often than not, just exiting the program at the end of the day results in a crash.
For what I do (electrode design), 2006 and 2007 were, by far, the most stable, with 2012 coming in a close third. Unfortunately, with SW's absolute lack of backwards compatibility, I'm stuck with 2014...
thank you four your reply . what i try to explain that solidworks realized and failure commands. for example firstly I dont need the mechanical Conceptual. but I need a properly working program. its clear. in addition I have SW running 50-60 hours a week, I encounter average 5-6 per week. My var and solidworks doesnt help to me for bugs and crashes. they know only create a spr. but there is no solution.
If we dont request solution from solidworks they keep a relax condition.
please think that in the simplest term, which cad program cant show cosmetic thread correctly. which cad program cant dimension patterned hole correctly.
thank you
I dont think Inventor is any more stable than SW I use both daily and will gladly pick SW or Inventor. Inventor crashes continously and not to mention all the other functional issues that come with adaptive design. We constantly have issues with the vault server and part mismatch for unknow reasons, constraints are horrible and the preview never works, I can keep going on and on, so dealing with a few graphical issues, I can deal with that.
you are right in some subjects. inventor is better than sw 2014. its incontestable. I use both daily too. inventor is a stabile and most inventor commands work correctly. inventor can show cosmetic thread, section view works perfect, inventor drawing is very very capable and stabile. there is no problem about zero thickness in inventor. there is no issue 'No valid edges for cosmetic thread creation'. I can say anymore...thank you
classic. we encounter the cosmetic thread problem regularly, pattern bugs.....apply a few and suddenly it stops working, missing views, ghost images, PDM icons and many more which SW know about but seemingly refuse to acknowledge. We need a forum to address these non-repeatable, but repeating issues which cannot be RX'd as VAR's aren't acknowledging this type of 'generic' software problem either.

Thank you, I saw this and just have to say, Thank you. Some days I think about switching to Microsoft paint for all my drawings instead of Solid(Doesn't)Work.
And I know this may not belong here, but I just wanted to vent, but they really through the Electrical Routing together quickly. I mean, they must have spent 10 minutes or less on it. I have so many issues and no one can seem to help me.
And I think SPR's are a joke. Just something to make the customer's feel like they are making a difference. I must have created 20 of them in the past 3 years and they all say "Closed", "Closed", "Closed." Another joke is the error reporting when SolidWorks crashes. I'm pretty sure that doesn't leave my computer when I click send.
Once again sorry for venting here, but thanks for listening. It helps. lol.
You have 50 open SPRs? What are some of them? What sort of issues do you have?
