Have a "problem" that solidworks becomes very small due to my high screen resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. how do I get the icons to get normal size without setting the screen resolution lower ?
See Re: Solidworks UI fonts problems on modern high resolution monitors
under "More Like This" to the right of this page.
You can turn on large icons for toolbar buttons, but SolidWorks does not yet have large icons for everything. See this help topic:
I hope this helps,
Be good to sort this given the increasing number of high res screens on laptops; have to turn the display on mine to a lower than optimal res to use Solidworks, which is a shame. Hope this is resolved in 2016.
We have addressed the majority of issues in SOLIDWORKS 2016 as documented in the What's New here:
2016 What's New in SOLIDWORKS - Improved User Interface Scaling for High-Resolution Screens
We are still aware of and working on some issues related to scaling with fixes coming in service packs as they are released.
I'm working in 4k and it's SW2014 - but would like to see what the difference in settings are in 2016 + some menus are not fully displayed:(
I'm also having this issue on my 24 inch Dell 4k monitor. 3840x2160 resolution. Annoying when you type something and the menu bar covers up the words you are trying to edit.
Windows 10 is set to scale fonts to 200%. I'm on Solidworks 2016 x64 SP2

Makes me glad I'm still "stuck with" 1920X1080
In SW 2018, go to Setting (the gear) > Customize, then on right Icon Size. Done! Any size you want!
