    stl file to solid model  for Ansys

      Hi  .Im a new user of SW. I have a Stl file and what can I do to make some changes this file to Solid model and then export it to ANSYS for Stress analysis.

          Gdgs,

           

          Can you get your file in any other format than STL? STL files are pretty much useless in SolidWorks and in ANSYS, as the parts are made of many triangular facets.

           

          If this is the only way you can get the file, then I suggest that you use the STL file as a sort of skeleton upon which you build a SolidWorks part. (Use the STL file to make sure that your SW part matches within whatever level of accuracy you require.)
