When I section the assembly model, Solidworks doesnt cut some parts. you can see added file. has anyone know this issue
My graphical card is quadro 4000 and workstation dell T5500
Does a Property Manager allow you to specify which components are affected by the cut?
I want to cut all body. I didnt choice any body for uncutting. nevertheless solidworks can not cut correctly. This is an assembly and an assembly envoirement.
Did you get any further with this? I often have exactly the same problem.
I haven't raised it with my VAR yet as it only happens occasionally.
Open Solidworks with rx opengl module. If the problem is about graphic card , you will see no problem.
Update graphic driver card.
Suggestion 1. See if parts not able to get cut are imported files with just surfaces.
Suggestion 2. Use Cut extrude in the assembly environment to create your own section view. Trust me, its easier
We suffer with this occasionally.....As it is intermittent our VAR says nothing can be done ?!?!
But as many suffer the same problem, SW need to look at it.
The only work around is in the assembly make another configuration and add a cut extrude where you want the cross section
I have had this happen on imported parts within my assembly. More times than not those imports had surface errors.
Hi Yazgan, Phil, et al,
Can you share the model(s) that you are having trouble with? You can PM me if you need to keep it private.
Hi Jody, and thank you for your response.
I am currently waiting for a copy of the NDA between ULTRA and DS SW from our VAR.
I should have this by the end of the week. Due to the nature of our work, I would rather not post the full model image on the forum, so if I can have your SW email please.
Once I get the NDA I will send you the model.
We have several iterations of it, and the section problem has been occurring intermittently from day 1.
I believe that SW sectioning is a little different from other CAD systems in sectional representations in that it actually carries out a mathematical cut and reduction of all of the parts involved, instead of just graphical image of a section. Yes/No?
And all of this takes place in memory. It is quite a complex model of many parts, comprised mostly of curved surfaces.
Thanks, and will continue off-forum.
