I have opened CATIA step file in Solid works. It was open but i am unable to edit those files.

I am using solidworks premium. I don't have a licence to use Feature works now. Is there any other solutions to edit those files
There are three different license: Standard-Professional-Premium. Pro and Pre have feature works Std does not.

Perhaps this doesn't need saying, but you can edit the part by cutting, adding material, and/or moving faces. You can get a lot done this way.

And that is the final answer! Technically you are editing the part BUT you are editing a dumb block so if you wish to make it longer you have to add features, cut features if another feature needs to be moved up or down etc. Not the ideal situation. If you aren't too constrained for time you and the model isn't too complicated remodeling is a great way to go for the next time there is a modification to the part.
Those file will come in as dumb solid/surface files. You can try featureworks but don't take that you'll have 100% parametric model. So you'll have to treat them like a dumb file and add features on that.
