it might not help too much but we stopped using SW and AutoCAD interchangably. We never had success (issues like this one plus many more) so we have learned the DraftSight program. It is similar to AutoCAD V12/14 and it all came back with relative ease. Sorry couldn't be more specific, but we threw up our hands with 2D to 3D and back never doing what we were told it would.
Dan, SolidWorks does that because it's note editor includes symbols like counterbore, spotface and the like and AutoCAD does not have corresponding characters for these in it's fonts.
what I would suggest is using the "text2mtext" command in AutoCAD to consolidate the text from exploded notes into Mtext paragraphs. You'll then need to use the leaderreattach tool (might still be an express tool) to apply the leader to the paragraph.
It might actually be better to write a VBA/LISP routine for capturing these cases and handling them automatically.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I have experimented with the command "text2mtext" but it seems too time consuming and when the command is used it changes the formating of the note (text is no longer centered or underlined)
I am not a experienced AutoCAD user, but I will try experimenting with a LISP routine that will do this automatically
