For the life of me, I cannot get the threads to show on this broken out section. It is turned on in display properties for the drawing and the model.
Anyone have a clue for me?
Have you tried printing the drawing out to see if it is there or not. Sometimes the graphics card is to blame. Most of the time if you update the graphics driver it may take care of this issue. Let me know,
It does not show on the printed drawing.
does it show up when you turn on the shading, I believe that is the only way if I remember correctly.
the only other way is to model the threads.
Shading only appears if the view is selected as "Shaded with Edges". This is a drawing view and cannot be the "shaded" version of the model.
I know that cosmetic threads do normally appear in "Hidden Lines Removed" view setting, but for this broken out view I cannot get them to appear.
so here is my question, as a machinist that gets drawings all the time why do you need to show the threads?
you have a callout from holewiz in another view, so i know it is a threaded hole....just saying...just extra fluff thats isn't needed.
ok i think we are talking about 2 diffent things here, I'm thinking you want to see the spiral threads when shades, you mean the dashed thread major lines around the hole., correct?
I just did a broken out section on a hole and the dashed lines for the thread do show. in SW2013 sp0

It's not my call. It is required by the customer, therefore it must be shown.
how about trying a section view and a crop of it???
I tried a section view and it does not show in there, either. And yes, I'm sure the model has the cosmetic threads.
I've submitted this to our VAR. Hopefully they can assist.
