Excel BOM editing

Does anyone have issues when editing Excel BOM's? The main problem being a very flakey OLE interface. When double clicking the BOM on the drawing sheet to edit, the zoom level seems to be pretty random. Sometimes, the border of the object disappears off the edge of the screen and navigation around the spreadsheet is virtually impossible.
Zooming in/out of the drawing sheet before activating the BOM does have an effect but it is very trial and error as to whether the Excel window is a useable size.

Quit using Excel BOMs after SolidWorks came out with their own. Unless you are working with very old drawings, I would suggest you do the same. Now to get down off my soap box. I have heard of your problem. SolidWorks got rid of their archive so a search is not possible. I would try the http://www.eng-tips.com/ web site, you may find an answer there in one of the old threads.

I have the same problem. The zoom you'll have to deal with. The instability can be HELPED, not fixed, by upgrading to the latest service pack for Office. Other than that, we just deal with it.

  The "zoom" problem seems to me to have something to do with the display resolution settings. I was having the same problem and i set my display to 1600X1024 and i no longer have the problem.
