I am curious if anyone has come up with nice "handwritten" font for laser etching or scribing. The requirments are that the letters and more difficult numbers must be connected. This of course to mnimize laser time (start and stop).
Keep in mind this is not to cut through the material but to mark the surface of the material for part #s and such.
I have found a font (Sacramento) but the numbers are not connected only the letters.
Actually stick fonts are not the problem, I want to connect the letters/numbers so the laser never stops burning. If you see my example above it will

Hi. This is my first post so i hope this goes well. Many part marking lasers burn all the way across a distance that is defined by the width of the image to be burned then drops down an increment and burns all the way back to the side it started from and so on til it burns to the bottom of the image. The length of burn time is really defined by the width and heigth of the image to be burned. It will take the same time to burn a solid 1 inch design as it will to burn 2 1 inch tall lines that are 1 inch apart.
To me I think if you connected numbers they would look bad. UNLESS they were connected by an underline.
SW 2014 stick font is not supported by iges and step exports. The the stick text is lost.
With SW2014 you can use stick fonts when applying sketch text to parts or assemblies for laser engraving, water jet, and for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining.
