Hi
I got a warning below during the calculation with Solidworks Flow Simulation.
"The flow has high Mach Number, the "High Mach Number flow" option is recommended.
May I know where can I enable the "High Mach Number flow" option?

Thank you very much for your reply.
I am expecting High Mach no fo for my centrifugal compressor simulation.
I do not turn on the humidity but I still could not find "High Mach no flow" in general setting.
I use rotation physical feature, with global rotating, z axis global coordinate system and specified angular velocity.
SPR 721778: Add support for High Mach number flow option when Rotation feature is used for rotating regions |
Source: SPRs |
no high mach number flow supported for rotation
thsi is from the kb at customerportal.solidworks.com
Hi
I am sorry that I could not access to kb. Did you mean that we cannot use Solidworks Flow Simulation to do CFD on turbomachinery with high Mach number?
the kb is accessible to anyone on current solidworks subscription
and your answer is correct as far as the documentation goes. but in the back of my head, i remember setting up and running a rotation problem where i had that warning and needed to turn on that option and i was able to do it. if you want to post the model i can take a look.
that being said, as per your other post, my guess is that you may also have a setup problem that you would want to resolve before you worry about this.
Hi
Thank you very much for your response. I appreciate it very much.
I am using educational version of Solidworks at school. Can educational version subscriber acees to kb?
If yes, I might want to talk to my school regarding this matter.
I know that some code has limitation to its educational version and I am also wish to know the limitation of Solidworks educational version. Do you know where can I find this information?
Thank you in advance.
it is in the general settings
but there are some features when enabled that the option will not be available, for example if humidity is turned on
if you aren't expecting high mach number flow, you should check your model to make sure you don't have small gaps where this is happening
