Hi there I work for a company who desires to have seperate bills of material for very similar assembilies,

I was wondering if I could shorten a rod that has a spline on one end and another part mated to it on the other,

We so not desire to use a design table and in the past I have used an assembily feature cut extrude. with this method I have managed to keep all of the partsin their original state while changing the spline end as desired. However now I wish to keep the spline end while making the bar shorter, is it possible to cut the bar down in size from somewhere in the center and moving the end spline in the assembily only?
