    Uniaxial Simulation

    Ben Morrissey

      Hey There,

SO I am simulation a dogbone specimen up to yield as non linear. The force and stress correlate to the test but displacement and strain do not! Does anyone know why this might be? Or what steps I can take to correct it ?

The strain I received via tensile test was 1.5% at yield

there have been several posts about this type of test and how best to set them up, have you taken a look at them?

most of the time correlation is possible but you need to be using the right material and exactly the same setup

to me, it doesn't make much sense that your stresses are right because displacements are calculated first, which are then turned into strain and then turned into stress. so that part might be "luck" related to your force and material
