Selecting Control Planes in Flow

Okay, I'm setting up a relatively large (dimensionally) model with some small features I need to resolve.  So I want to put control planes on specific points.

Go to add control planes, select "Reference Geometry", pick a plane in the model... and it simply puts the control plane parallel to that plane, but at the origin.  Select another plane parallel to that and it complains that you are selecting the same plane.

Why can't I select a reference plane like it says I should be able to?  I've got a bunch of planes to put it and don't want to have to ping each one for a dimension to manually enter.

You can see below, I select Plane 1, which it shows hightlighted both in the feature manager and in the model, but it places the control plane at x=0 and indicates that with the plane through the origin in the model view.  I realize it's Friday afternoon and my brain is already starting the weekend, but....  Hints? Clues? Suggestions?
