BOM Population Troubles

First off, I'm running Solidworks Premium 2013 SP5.0, don't actually know if this makes a difference to the answer, but I thought I'd get it out of the way now & save time later.

The BOM table population troubles started with a much larger assembly, but I've done a bit of experimenting/research and it seems to be a problem all the way down (I've only used weldment cutlist tables to date, and they work fine.). Basically, the table will only partially populate.

I have an Assembly, let's call it N1 Assy, this is made up of the following

  • 1 part - N1 Beam (containing 21 bodies)
  • 1no. 750 Subplate Assembly (750 Subplate & a bunch of nuts & bolts that shouldn't be in the BOM)
  • 3no. 1300 Subplate Assembly (1300 Subplate & a bunch of nuts & bolts that shouldn't be in the BOM)
  • 1No. 750 Template Assembly (750 Template & a bunch of nuts & bolts that shouldn't be in the BOM)
  • 3no. 1300 Template Assembly (1300 Template & a bunch of nuts & bolts that shouldn't be in the BOM)

If I insert either a Top-Level or Parts Only BOM I have

  1. 1no. N1 Beam
  2. 8no. 750 Templates

If I insert a Indented BOM I get (just FYI, I don't plan to use an indented table)

  1. 1no. N1 Beam
    • 1no. N1 Beam
    • 1no. N1 Beam
    • 1no. N1 Beam
    • 1no. N1 Beam
    • 3no. N1 Beam
    • 11no. N1 Beam
    • 2no. N1 Beam
    • 440no. N1 Beam
  2. 8no. 750 Template Assys
    • 1no. 750 Templates

Whilst there is only 1 N1 Beam, & there is only 1 750 Template per 750 Temp Assy, basically everything else is wrong or not even there.

I've filled in the custom properties for all or my Parts and Assemblies, but most of the parts/assemblies aren't listed, have been lumped in with something else or don't have their other properties (dimensions, material etc) populated.

The good news I suppose is that the nuts & bolts that shouldn't be listed aren't.

So does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

P.S. If you need more information you have but to ask. Cheers.
