In the tutorial on inserting a forming tool..
How do you align the louvers to the top one and equi-space them automatically?
I don't do mutch sheet metal, but my first try would be to use a linear feature pattern from the first one.
the linear feature pattern is good when beginning placement.
The picture was just a practice tutorial, but what if I had 200 louvers already placed and are out of alignment and are not equispaced? How would I adjust them from that point?
delete 199 of them and put in a pattern?
otherwise you will need to edit each of them individually to correct their placement.
Sheet metal forming tools are sketch-based features. They are located by an insertion point (usually the part origin). When you created these particular louvres, by selecting the position tab, SolidWorks put you in sketch mode where you can use any of the sketch tools. If you sketch a construction line down the center of your part, you could then drag the insertion point for each louvre coincident to the line to align them. Alternately, you could just add a vertical relation to all of the points.
I used this method and I thought there was an easier way to do this.
I was expecting something like select all the louvers - right click - align to centre
