Just recently started getting into sheetmetal, and Im running into some probably very basic problems.
The first one is using the Miter Flange tool, Im looking to simply miter one edge to another. As shown in 'Miter Flange' imgur link below;
The red lines simply show what Im trying to accomplish.
The second problem is welding the edges together.
With the weld flange command, it simply wont allow me to select the edges and have them weld together. No idea what Im doing wrong.

Sorry, I wish I knew this forum better. How do I do that? Im only seeing 'Attach Image', 'Attach Video' and 'Insert Link'.
Use the "Advanced Editor" to attach files.

For the flanges, just use the "Edge Flange" tool and click on both edges. It will automatically apply the "miter" as per your provided picture. With regard to the welding, you can only weld two "assemblies" together...not within the same part.

Oh awesome, thank you. I tried doing that before, but I stupidly tried clicking on both edges before dropping the first flange.
So, what should I do with ugly edges like this;?

Those gaps are due to the .06" radius you have as the default. I typically use .03" radius to make the models look aesthetically pleasing, but ultimately this is driven by the design and what you need for your final part. Likewise, the corner gap you see at the 45 degree flanges doesnt look that bad, and is typical of what a sheet metal shop would do to make sure the corner isn't stressed....you could always change your corner treatment (bend relief?) defaults in the software to make it look good on your screen (and drawing) and lets the sheet metal experts decide what to do there.

The corner where the edge flange starts can be cleaned up by selecting "trim side bends" from the sheet metal property manager.

This is how I would approach this part. It's a little tedius (and a whole lot anal retentive)....but that's how I roll. Look at the feature tree and go through it step by step. Not for everybody, but it is what it is. Best of luck!
