Problems installing Solid Works 2013 (for students home use)

Question asked by Richard Manley on Jan 7, 2014

We have a home use license for Solid Works for our students (version 2013). Unfortunately we have been experiencing several difficulties with the installation and were wondering if anyone has had similar issues, or had ideas of how to solve it?

1. The installer brings up just a blank window, with no options to select, or continue.

2. We find there are a lot of problems when a previous version of Solid Works has been installed on the computer, even after the software has been uninstalled.

This is found on both Windows 7 and 8, and mostly has been installed on laptops.

Many thanks,

Liz Widley.
