Hi Jake,
Visit the knowledge base and review solution S-040845.
A red cross is displayed on the Enterprise PDM blueberry as a result of a file not being added to the database of the vault.
Normally when a file is saved to a file vault view from the save as dialog of an application the file will be saved and added to the file vault.
The Enterprise PDM tray icon will show a green plus sign as the file is added to the database and when the file has been stored successfully a notification balloon will confirm the number of files successfully added.
If the addition fails a red cross will show on the Enterprise PDM blueberry and the files that failed will be listed in a notification message.
Regards,
Joy
Just checked - the icon on the task bar doesn't have any plus sign - just the windows explorer view. Is there an explanation of this in the admin manual?

Hi Jake, I actually had this happen to me once after an upgrade so I did another search of the knowledge base and found solution S-034661. --- This behavior has been observed on some client systems that are upgraded from an earlier version of Enterprise. The Windows icon cache becomes mixed up and uses the wrong Enterprise icon for the vault view (the green plus icon normally only shows in the system tray icon when files are added to the vault). Workaround is to uninstall Enterprise from add-remove programs, reboot system, then reinstall. You could also attempt to clear the Windows icon cache and reboot - this does not always work). A good utility for clearing the cache is TweakUI from Microsoft powertoys (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx) Also see KB solution S-054209 for additional tips. --- Regards, Joy
Jake,
I've seen this caused before by a corrupt icon cache in Windows 7, you can follow the steps here to see if that clears it up for you:
