If function

Hi to all,
I would like to suppress or unsuppress a function when a dimension is big then X value.
I know that I can do it by DT, but the limitation is that I need to enter on DT to update the result of the if function.
There is a solution without this limitation, for example equations ?

    Yes you're right you can't suppress a function in the equationmanager. Sorry.

      The only way to do that outside a design table will be by using amacro feature linked to a trigger which will control the state ofthe feature. Look at API Help

        You can suppress or unsuppress using the if statement.
        
        Example: =IF(A1>5,"S","U")
        
        Also, DT's will update if you change a dim on the model (unless youblock model edits). You might have to open and then close theDT for the S/U to update though. I'm not sure, try it out.

        Using "IF" statements you can suppress or unsuppress parts (components) but not features inside a part sincethere is no "call" for a feature that can be done from adesign table. That can be done using API or usingconfigurations where that feature is either suppress or unsuppressand control de configuration from a design table.

        Sure you can. You just can't control part features within anassembly DT. See attached example.

According to the 2009 help files, you can use $state@feature_name in a part or assembly to control the state of a feature in a design table.

This can be done without a macro feature in SolidWorks 2009 by putting VBA code into a custom property and then running that code by setting an equation equal to that custom property. See http://forum.solidworks.com/fo...word1=text%20equation
