Creating .dxf from imported STEP

Hi all,

I am trying to generate blocks for use in Draftsight, from an imported STEP file. The original assembly was created on 2013 and I am using 2010, so the assembly was supplied in STEP.

When I import the part into solidworks, it has a number of surface faults and gaps that will not heal.

I have tried creating a drawing and saving as .dxf and this only gives a few of the pieces of the assembly, not the full thing. When the view has the shaded surfaces selected, it displays as the assembly should, just not in wireframe.

I have saved the assembly as a .sldprt, same result.

I have tried saving as .dxf and with the same result.

Are these issues relating to the unhealed surfaces and gaps? Are there alternative methods of generating the blocks I need?

Cheers,

Neil MacDonald
