I am working on establshing A vault for my group using PDM workgroup, and I am wondering if it is possible from someone to read a solidworks drawing / DWG from the vault just using a viewer. do I have to save it as e-drawing ? does he/she has to be assingned user to the vault ?
In the admin tool, select... keep latest copies.
Browse to the vault data folder, find the project you want, surf inside the "latest" subfolder. Here is where latest copies reside....
Users could just use eDrawings and have them always open from this location. This would only be the latest revisions. This would not require them to be a user in WorkGroup PDM. You would have to locate all files in one folder if you want it really convenient (we place all released drawings under one folder/project in the vault... so all latest released drawings are in this one location).
