All,
Has anyone ever experianced not being able to open a Excel file after it has been moved from one EPDM folder to another?
Keep getting a message that excel cannot locate the file.
Thanks,
Ron

Are you trying to open it from the recent list in excel? If so, is won't open after you move it because it will look for it in the old location. You would first need to open it from the explorer window.
If you can't open from the explorer window then that is a new one for me!
No it will not open from windows explorer.
If the file is in folder A you can doulble click and the file opens.
Cut and Paste the file into folder B and then dpouble click on the file and you get a cannot find the file mesage.
Cut and Paste the file back to the original folder A or a folder outside of PDM and it will load with a double click in windows explorer.
Thanks for the reply,
Ron
Ron,
Yes, I have. How many characters are in the new path name?
If the path length exceeds 256 characters (along with some other caveats) the file won't open, won't be able to get latest version, or check out, or transition.
If that's the case, try renaming the folder(s) so the path length shrinks. Then try it again and report back.
