I am trying to install SW 2013 and all I get is a blank installation manager. It worked fine until I replaced my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7, now I can't install SW which means I cannot work.

Thanks for the post Deepak but none of it was helpful. This must be a common problem with solidworks as I have found a lot of people with the same issue but there does not seem to be a conclusive answer.
Surely Solidworks costs enough to sort out issues such as not being able to install the product!
My first call/contact in cases dealing with install problems would be my VAR (the company I purchased SWorks from). If you have purchased the subscription service from them, press them to get an answer - you have paid for it.
After that, this forum is a great resource.
Are you installing from the internet or from discs? If you're installing from the internet, are you sure the files downloaded successfully? Did you have your AV turned off?
Hi Jeff, thanks for your reply. I didn't buy the subscription service, software cost enough! I am installing from discs, should I turn off AV prto installing?
Disable UAC under control panel and AV too. Finally try installation again. Also windows recently pushed major updates recently and there is good chance that might have created the issue.
Thanks for the idea Deepak, I've just tried that but the problem still remains.
I would still call your SW reseller. They should help you out with getting the software installed and working for you.
i have recently formatted my laptop and now i have windows 7 x64 sp1, and since i have done that, i try to instal Solidworks and the intallation manager is blank. i have recently formatted and up date win7 or not . after that i instal Solidworks first ....it is still that.
i call your SW reseller but they cann't do.
This is a common problem, You have to create an image (*.iso) file with solidworks installation files, and mount it and then try to install, Then it will install perfectly !, Use a software you can create an iso image.
Hope this helps,
Reply if succeeded !
Thanks so much.
woah woah woah, an iso isn't going to fix this problem.
let's start with where you got the files for installation and how you installed. there are a couple of causes for this that we need to look at.
second, are both of you still having trouble after talking to your reseller or have you not contacted them because you are off subscription? they should be able to help you with this.
Well did you try that method ?, Anyway you can still contact your VAR to fix this type of problem as Mr Jared has mentioned !
There is a lot of work involved in that method when for example if the user has their default browser set to chrome or something that setting it to IE would fix it. Or back tracking from IE10 to a previous supported version. There is no difference in developing an iso (Admin image) vs standard installation other than you may bypass the installation manager to get around the issue rather than solve it.
I think setting default browser to IE may help, but the IE has some security settings that blocks the installation, I haven't mentioned it in the first place, due to this sercurity reasons IE setup is showing blank page. This is a common problem in most of installation systems that uses IE. However making an iso should work !, It is better if you can contact the developer team about this matter. IE has some problems when it comes to security
Thanks! This worked for me! I was uninstalling old SW2010 and IE was not default. After i made it default it worked.
This worked for me finally!!!!!Why does the SolidWorks Installation Manager not show any installation options? | Tech Center
