I am unable to install the 2013 SP5.0 64 bit SNL manager on Server 2008 R2. The install fails when trying to intstall the x86 versions of C++ redistributable 2005 and 2010. Any thoughts? Why does it need the 32 bit files on a 64 bit server?
Welcome in the forum.
I think Windows Server 2008 R2 it's only 64bit, but i'm not sure.
Do you have any error? I mean any error code? Try unistal all C++ and framework, and then go to intalation folder and i this folder you got "Prereqs", install all x86 and x64. Then try instal Manager.
I hade no issues a few weeks for the SW2014SP0 64bit SNL on the Server 2008SP2. We have it on a physical server and not a Virtual Machine. Can that be a reason?
My understanding is that, by default, the installation tries to install the x86 files as well as the x64 files by default. The log files say x86 is not supported on the platform. I have tried to manually install the files out of the prereqs folders and get the same errors. We prefer to stay 1 year behind to reduce issues with software bugs. Are the SNL managers backwards compatible? I have the 2014 disc, if I could get the 2014 SNL manager to install would it still read the 2013 licenses, and hand out licenses to the 2013 clients?
I am trying the install on a VM but have seen in the forums people have installed on a VM without a problem.
Yes you can have the latest SNL manager and it will work for 2013 licenses. I do this every year... the SNL manager on the server is always newer than the what then users are using.
Installed SW2013 SP04 (64bit, single)recent September which worked until update to SP05 end december. At approx mid of installation it stopped and messaged Install.Mgr. Error. Could not finish inst. I tryed many versions repairing, uninstall, reinstall SP04, Sp05, neither from DVD nor fm SW web. I followed all hints of reseller's support: Being admin, put uac down to zero, stop virusscanner. There is no progress. I spent 4 days only for SW2013. No success.
Can somebody help?
