I am putting a gift together for my brother in law.  We are big time Oregon State Beaver fans and thought it would be fun to make him a gift.

So I took the Oregon State Beaver Logo and created a 10 gage sheet metal part out of it.  Then sourced some orange translucent acrylic that will be mounted on the back.

What I am going to be doing is sourcing a warm white LED light strip like the following:

That would be mounted around the permiter of the assembly pointing back at the wall that it is hung on.

What I would like to do in solidworks is who a representation of the LED light on back as shown from the front.  How would I do this?

I can model up a wall and place the assembly on a wall.  I can put a sketch or a part with a face representative of the LED light strip.  Could I then put a light source on the sketch or the face of the swept part that I create that would shine towards the wall?

I forgot to mention that I have 10 gage SS sheet available from a recent deisgn I did at work.  The acylic is costing my $18 and the LED strips about $50, power supply from the thrift store will run about $2.  The guys here at work are going to waterjet cut the two parts for me and weld the standoff's on for me for free.  Pretty awsome gift in my book at 24" wide
