Unable to view PDFs in Vault

Has anyone come across this issue? We have Workgroup PDM, SolidWorks Pro 2013, and Adobe Acrobat Pro X. Our issue is that we had a machine upgrade from IE9 to IE11. After the upgrade the user was no long able to view PDFs from the Vault via the Document Information window. All that was displayed was a small black box in the upper left hand corner with a tiny X inside of it. After many attempts of adjusting setting, uninstalling programs. We decided to remove IE11 and revert back to IE9. With some success it works again. Now for the really issue, what to do if IE9 is no long available? Do anyone know of a setting or a fix for this problem?
