I spend many times and many hours using "repair sketch" tool in Solid Works trying to find solution to close a sketch and make feature. Sometimes I had to delete step by step more and more details on sketch to find a reason and solution. I think all three mentioned repair tools do not work well.
Maybe it happens because my work starts in a specific way (but maybe not so specific in fact...) - first step is to import customer's DXF then I need to have it extruded. DXF is taken from customer. Many times DXF from customer looks horrible (open / doubled / and so on)... It depends for example from his tool he has used.
Solution from Space Claim looks to be much more inteligent and faster.
When I saw this clip from Space Claim it was my love at first sight ;-)
Yes there is you need to find it in the spline tools.
fit pline turns all the curves into one.
Spline Tools Toolbar
Use tools on the Spline Tools toolbar to control properties of a sketched spline.
Ok. I'm trying to repair not closed in some place selected PCB outline (I need to make feature - 1,5 mm printed circuit board then).
1. I have selected all segment of imported from dxf pcb outline.
2. I'm trying to use Spline -> Fit spline
3. I'm getting all the time: The selected entitles do not form one contigous contour.
It means: useless tool for me... :-(
can you show us a picture or even put up the fill so we can see what you are trying to do.
to hard to guess without seeing or something, we may do it slightly differnt than you are trying
I will try to send you something. But I think it is not so hard to imagine a drawing including hundreds or thousands of segments and for example one of them or two of them are not closed in contour (outline). Then you cannot to make any feature on it.
Just please check minutes from 1.30 to 1.47 of this movie:
