I am trying to create a simple reference point using the intersection of an Axis and a Plane. Why is SolidWorks having trouble creating the point? Note, the custom plane is 45 degrees to the axis.
That problem has existed for quite a few versions. Check the More Like This list at the RH side of the screen.
Apparently it has finally been fixed in SW14.
I am having this exact same problem, except my plane is perpindicular to my axis. I checked the "more like this" and I searched for "reference point" and "point axis plane" and could find no other post concerning how to deal with this issue. If someone has found a work around, it would be great to know it.
If you want a workaround, create a sketched line coincident with the axis. You can create a reference point at the intersection of a plane and line.
Thank you Glenn, that worked great.
Thanks Glen. Perhaps this is another reason to convince my managers to upgrade our software
That's strange. There is a completely different set of threads listed in the More Like This box than when I posted. They are also unrelated to the topic of this thread.
I didn't notice them earlier, but the ones there now certainly appear to be un-related to the topic.
Next day edit: It seems to be fixed now.
