Hi,
I'm making a seat for a chair, which has ribs on the bottom. The seat is double curved. If I use the draft tool for the ribs, the thickness of the ribs is uneven since the pull direction is a non-curved plane. Is there a way to draft all the ribs with an even thickness? The ribs are and extruded boss base.

Does that mean I need to draw a parting line per row of ribs?

I believe you are correct.
For the ribs in the middle this feature works, the ribs on the outside won't. The problem is the radius in the corner. That's where the feature stops working
2 thoughts:
1. Are the corner radius fillets a fillet feature or built into a sketch? If they are a fillet feature, add the draft first, then the fillets.
or
2. Does your parting line curve follow around the entire 3 sides of the outer rib, including the corner radius?
Using the Draft feature:
Select "Parting line" as the type of draft
Select the same plane you were using before as your Direction of Pull
Begin selecting the "edges" of your ribs (top or bottom) as your Parting Lines. If you want the ribs to be the modeled size PLUS draft, select the bottom edges (by bottom edge, I am talking about the edges that are the farthest away from the seating surface). If you want your ribs to be the modeled size MINUS draft, select the top edges.
You do not need to create any curves in order to use the Parting Line type of draft, you just need to draft the ribs before you put any Fillets on the top/bottom of the ribs.
Use parting line draft instead of neutral plane draft, and you'll need a parting line along the base or top of your ribs. You'll probable need to build a curve to reference as your parting line.
