Hey folks, I am experiencing a problem trying to make a Geneva wheel/assembly. The cam mates aren't working correctly and was wondering if any of you can give me some assistance.
Your zip file only contained the assembly file. To correct this do a Pack & Go from the main assembly. That should include all the required parts for you assembly into the zip file.
Sorry about that. This should work. Let me know if it doesn't.
What are hoping to accomplish? I'm not sure you can mate a Geneva cam assembly properly and see the proper motion of it at all times.
I was hoping to get a motion similar to:
Obviously my design differs, but a full rotation of the driving pin would rotate the Geneva wheel 1/6th of a full rotation.
The problem is, when I set up the cam, it would only go one motion of the G wheel, but the right wheel couldn't go around with that mate set up.
If you are just trying to create an animation then you can do this as a motion study. Even the simplified version of SW Motion that is loaded on every seat is capable of doing this. But as for having the model behave in this manner all the time, you won't be able to do that I think. Someone else might prove me wrong.
