Extracting individual structural members to a drawing

This might seem like a silly question but I can't seem to find how to do it anywhere...I created a hand rail assembly as a weldment. Each piece is a different structural (group) member with mitered cuts in just about very direction. All I want to do is extract the individual pices onto my sheet 2. Sheet 1 is the assembly weldment. I've tried 6 different ways in creating the weldment and have spent more time than if I would have modeled each piece seperatley...There has got to be a quick way to do this. What am I missing??

Welcome to the forums.

In the drawing view property manager you should see a "Select Bodies..." button near the top, that will allow you to select the body(ies) you want to show in the selected view.

  The method Paul gave you works very well for cases where the bodies are oriented with one of the three main planes. For cases where they aren't, and it sounds like that might be your case, you have two options that I know of:
  
  1. Create a custom view in your model. (Position the part the way you want the drawing view of the particular body, hit your space bar, and select the "New View" icon on the Orientation dialog box.) You can then select this custom view in the view's PropertyManager with the "Select Bodies" button. You can create as many views as you want in your part.
  
  2. Insert a drawing view of the part. Right-click on it and choose "Drawing Views > Relative View." That will take you to your model, where you select which body you want for the drawing view, along with a front and right side, and click OK. That will take you back to your drawing where you can place the view. You can then delete the first view if you don't need it. This is maybe a little simpler than creating custom views, but it has one disadvantage, which may or may not matter to you. Once you have selected the body or bodies and the front and right side for your drawing view, clicked OK, and placed the view in your drawing, you can't go back and edit any of those parameters.

If you have to do this often, you might want to look into the AutoStruct add-in to Solidworks. This automatically makes a drawing for each body in each part of an assembly, inserting them relative-to-model so they are oriented horizontally. It also groups identical bodies in an assembly, like the cut list does within a part, and gives a part number to each distinct body in the cut list.
