Multiple uses for XML docs in EPDM

I'm setting up my epdm vault and am trying to set it up using xml documents for our ECR/ECN process.  One big limitation I've come across is that there is only one card for all xml documents.  I'd like to use the same functionality for some other forms we have.

I was wondering if there was a way to have multiple cards somehow?  I know of one trick is to use a variable to control a tab on the card, but i think it would make the card unweildy.

I have seen cvd virtual documents use another extension, is something similar possible?

Also, is there some way I can make up any unused extension like .ecn and have the system interpret them as xml?  The content of the file would still have the xml declaration on the top.  I have tried renaming (and setting up the variable attributes) but it doesnt "process" the file.  I would imagine this is a windows registry setting... I just need to know where I would set up the new extension to act like an xml file.
