Hi!
I am trying to make a Barrel Cam and follower assembly. Currently I am using wrap and then deboss to create the cam profile. Whenever I try to mate the follower to the inner profile of the cam, the follower ends up crooked at certain points along the cam. If I try to mate anything else to the cam, it locks in the highest or lowest position. Does anybody have any ideas as to what I'm doing incorrectly?
I think getting the correct profile might be a bit more complex than what you did.
Here is a more involved solution.

I suspect with later versions there is now an easier way with Sweep - Cut, but not sure as I haven't tried.
The key is that you need the centerline path that the tool would follow. Then offset this 3D surface (which is slightly different geometry than offsetting a 2D sketch and wrapping).
This represents a cylindrical tool following the curve around the cylinder.
If you tried Sweep, you would have to make the same accommodation (sweeping a rectangle is not the same as sweeping a cylinder).
