Is there a quick way to section thru the center of a cylindrical surface without creating a plane?
is it just to see inside or to keep it that way?
there is the section tool at the top of the graphics area, just to the left of the shading tool at the top.
click it then either use the default planes, can pick thru the selections at the top of the property bar or pick a face. then grab the arrow of the preview and pull, if you go to the outside face you can rotate the palain. one nice thig is there is a check box to save this for the drawing as a section.
In a section view in a part or assembly document, the model is displayed as if cut by planes and faces that you specify, to show the internal construction of the model.
Zebra stripes are not available with an active section view.
Section 3 is unavailable until Section 2 has been selected.
To return the model to full view, click Section View again.
You can select the faces, edges, and vertices that are created by a section view of a part or assembly.
Search 'Section Views in Models' in the SolidWorks Knowledge Base.
