    Managing library parts in EnterprisePDM

    Prasad Bhonsule

Hello, I work for a reseller in Australia and received a question from a customer that I wanted some advice on.

Customer creates a part that is in reality a complete bolt assembly - bolt, nut and washer. These are configured for various diameters, bolt lengths etc.

Customer would like to manage these parts in EPDM so that users could only use them in assembly read-only, so that no modifications can be made.

Any suggestions on how to create a library type folder in EPDM would be greatly appreciated.

      Kind regards,

What is the EPDM Version your client is Running?

"Library folder" depends on how you plan to use it.You can simply create a folder and a Workflow and specify the conditions so that all the files in this folder are "Read Only".

If you need your can point SolidWorks Lib to this folder so that parts are available for drag n drop. You may have to do a "get" operation depending on the EPDM Version you have to be able to see these files inside solidworks Library pane.
