Hello everyone,
Can you guys help me with my assembly? For some reason I can't get a concentric mate going between the 2 threaded rods. There seems to be enough freedom of movement and the planes seem lined up and parallel etc. I've run into this numerous times before and can't figure it out. Even being extra careful in all of my mates from the begining. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Mate coincident7 had already set the vertical height of the rods. When you tired to go concentric with the rods you were trying to add another vertical height setting to the assembly. If you suppress the coincident7 mate it will let you go concentric with rods.
So what you are saying is since I have the rod locked from movement in the 'Y-axis', it won't accept the concentric mate?
Apparently so. Suppressing Coincident16 mate will also allow the concentric mate.
Solidworks won't let you have two mates locking in the same thing.
Wow! I've had issue with certain assembly that appeared to have some degree of free movement but I couldn't throw a concentric mate on certain parts. It sorta makes sense but still odd since i can swing those parts on an axis. I'll have to make a mental note of that any time i deal with concentric. Thanks!!!
