Is it possible to run some kind of a scan on a part file to see if it's corrupt or damaged? I have a drawing and a part that I created a few days ago that I can't open. I get the "Future Version" error if I try to open either one. No one here has a another version of SolidWorks so it couldn't be saved as a new version. Does SolidWorks save a hidden backup file somewhere that I could recover? Thanks.
No hidden backup files to recover. Sorry.....
Does your company have a system in place for daily backups of the company files?
No one in IT is testing the new version of SolidWorks and accidentally saved over a file?
Maybe someone has a SW2013/2014 student version and accidently saved out the files? You would need to be using SW2012 for that scenario to be valid.
What version of SolidWorks are you using? I am assuming SW2013, but maybe you are on SW2012.
Unfortunately you will likely need to re-create the file. If you can post it someone here can at least save out a dumb solid for you to use as a starting point.
Cheers,
Anna
