how to save an assembly that includes items from toolbox such as nuts and bolts, because the program is warning that we are saving a read-only file?
Thank you, Glenn. That was really helpful. If I uncheck the box "Hole.." can I still insert Toolbox items as before, i.e. Design Library-->Toolbox, etc?
Do a pack and go and toolbox item will go with them
I would like to add custom properties to the toolbox items I use, such as Description, Part #, Material, etc. I tried to save the item as a copy under a different name in the project folder but when I close and reopen the assembly, it brings back the original toolbox item. How can I do it? Using SW2013.
You probably need to un-check this box:
I would also recommend removing the Toolbox designation from those parts. Instructions here: http://www.rickyjordan.com/2008/03/is-it-a-toolbox.html
Yes, you can still use Toolbox parts as before. Un-checking that box just keeps SW from over-riding Toolbox parts that have been saved to a different location.
Removing the Toolbox designation from those parts is just insurance so that if that box is checked it won't matter since SW will no longer recognize those parts as Toolbox parts.
Thanks a lot, Glenn.
Please take a look to this post.
