Cute, really cute,... just installed sp2.1 and ... amazing!
You guys and your developer are really sumthang!?
Do you guys get off on this stuff?????
How can you waste more of my and other users subscription $$??

It's stuff like this that makes you think,... you guys don't have any system for testing. You're QA is obviously.... why, why do we have to go through this constantly!?!?!?

You know what, now I get used to it....Just manually toggle the Photoworks toolbar....wasting a few seconds....Not a big deal.

Paul,

First, thanks for all your beta testing over the years, Second - unfortunately you're a victim of it. I believe your problem stems from a know issue with 2006 SP5 and 2007 Beta and only exists for users that have had a certain combination of beta and released versions on their computer. I've looked into SPR 327540 that we have on file from you. The recommendation, if it never got back to you is to remove your SolidWorks Key from the registry (SolidWorks rebuilds it on launch)

Keep in mind that by doing this you'll loose your current customization, but it might be neccessary to correct this problem.

1. START/Run/Regedit
2. navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SolidWorks
3. export your current SolidWorks key... just in case.
4. Delete the SolidWorks Key
2. Start SolidWorks
3. Go to Add-Ins and enable PhotoWorks (check the box under startup) - you do not need to open a file
4. Right-click in the toolbar space and turn on the PhotoWorks toolbar

Let me know if this doesn't clear up your problem and I'll reopen the issue.

  Thanks for the reply. I had seen the same issue that Paul was describing, and yes I am also a Beta tester. Seems like the solution is a clean un-install and wipe the registry after using the Beta versions of the software. I thought I did that, but maybe I missed something. It also seems from my experience that running only one version of SolidWorks on an instance of windows is much preferred over having multiple versions installed. Unfortunately, for people like myself and Paul (sorry if I speak incorrectly about you Paul), this is not what we would like to find out b/c we are just too thrifty to purchase additional hardware/software to run multiple versions separately. And so, we have mutiple versions installed on the same OS instance. Now, I know that there are many who have had success with this, including myself, but there does seem to be a number of caveats that each one of us seems to have to painfully experience before we learn what we can/should do in each circumstance surrounding this setup. I wonder how much of SolidWorks time is spent supporting/troubleshooting problems that arise from this situation - or from situations where unclean installations are prevalent. It seems that some kind of information regarding how to smartly be a Beta tester and have multiple versions of production software installed all on the same OS instance would be well appreciate in the Beta and user community and might also serve SolidWorks by reducing the number of support issues that consume your time. I have read various articles on proper setups, but there just doesn't seem to be anything that pulls all this info together. What are others' thoughts...

    I agree with your suggestion and the next time I meet with the Beta development team, I will make a note of it and see if we can provide a utility or at least infomation for doing a cleaning of the registry for Alpha and Beta users. We of course, have utilities internal for doing this but there are risks.
    
    I don't feel that it is an issue to run multiple versions of SW on your computer (currently I have three on my laptop - '06 '07 and alpha '08) and I don't have too many problems and the ones that I do have to do with '08 naturally, but for released versions I don't feel it's and issue. What is an issue is the remnants of Alpha and beta version that have crap in the registry that doesn get eliminated.
    
    One of the hard parts about working here is managing all the different versions that get thrown at us. On the laptop that I have had for about 2 1/2 years, I've must of had approximate 75 versions of SW installed.

        As a beta tester, i face the similar problem or even worse: My COSMOSworks toolbar always need manually turn on when I enable COSMOSworks add-ins.
        
        I had tried clean install of SW2007 after finish beta testing, if there's any uitilities to clean the beta registy, I will be very happy to use it.
        
        Anyway, for those toolbar issues, I don't feel very inconvenience, as it just waste a few seconds to manually turn on it: I can bear with that...
