Hello,
I am currently having a little problem with creating a design table once i am in an assembly. I would like to know if there is a quick fix or if what i am trying to accomplish is possible. What I am trying to do is just have 3 parts, 1 fixed, the other 2 mated so they can move in 1 direction, than add a dimension for their position. I would like to do this with a separate excel sheet (Design Table)
The problem I am having is once I assemble everything, add the dimension, open the design table, then change dimensions. nothing happens. Any tips, tricks or links would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello Jay,
It may be difficult to diagnose the problem without seeing the files, but I'll try to help. It sounds like your dimensions aren't linked properly. First of all, I assume that your parts are mated with a distance mate. If so, when you insert your design table, if you will click in the cell that will be the column header, then expand your tree, click on the distance mate, then click on the dimension in the graphics area, it should be linked, and you can enter your variables for each configuration.
If this doesn't help, please give more information about your assembly, or pack and go it to a zip file and post it. If it does help, I would appreciate knowing that also.
