Hi,
From the drop down menu of 'select' we can use 'select suppressed/hidden' to select all the suppressed/hidden components. It is great, but the problem is if the hidden/suppressed component is in a subassembly, it is not shown in the Feature Manager directly. I found out that they were still selected (I noticed when I expanded the tree). But if they were not shown, a lot of times I did't know (or did't remember) where they were. I think this defeats the purpose of the function partially.
I don't know if it is about the FM or the Select tool, but is there a way to do the 'select suppressed' and have the feature tree automatically expands those subassemblies with suppressed components inside?
Thanks.
That would be a potentially very dangerous option to have. If a sub-assy were used in other top level assys, altering the supression states of it's components could drastically affect the other TL assys.
Supression states of sub-assy components should be controlled with configurations at the sub-assy level.
Some users have already reported problems by inadvertently using the recent ability to delete sub-assy components while not being in edit mode for those sub-assys. That is another potentially dangerous situation.
